Blickling Estate

Nobody ever forgets their first sight of Blickling. The breath-taking red-brick mansion and ancient yew hedges sit at the heart of a magnificent garden and historic park in the beautiful Bure meadows.

The first major country house left to the National Trust under the ‘Country Houses Scheme’ which was entirely due to the inspiration of Philip Kerr, 11th Marquess of Lothian, and last owner of the estate. This year we celebrate 75 years of his gift to the nation.
